The Day My Book Outsold Vonnegut

The book is having a moment. With apologies to one of my literary heroes, Kurt Vonnegut, I’m telling anyone who will listen that per Amazon Kindle’s Best Seller ranking in the Satire category, The Misconceived Conception was the #7 best seller on 12/17 outselling Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five and Breakfast of Champions (as well as Palahniuk’s Fight Club and Fielding’s Bridget Jones). I’m only glad Vonnegut is not alive to see this, although I suspect he’s rolling over, feverishly spinning out of control, in his grave at this very moment. But, the Amazon Best Seller algorithms are brutal and humbling, and I woke up on the morning of 12/18 to find I’m out of the top 10 already.
