I’ve been invited to perform a 10-minute reading from The Misconceived Conception of a Baby Named Jesus at the Bookstock festival in Woodstock, Vermont. Just to clarify, the other Woodstock, the one from the late 1960s with a lot of music, even more drugs, long hair and an astounding amount of tie-dye, took place on a farm in Bethel, NY, not in Woodstock, Vermont.

But Bookstock is even more exciting as it showcases literary luminaries and cross-cultural voices, including Pulitzer Prize winners, Poets Laureate, and National Book Award winners. I know what you’re thinking—“How did you get invited?” Well, just like the 1960s music festival wasn’t only about headliners like Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Grateful Dead, and Janis Joplin, it also included acts that most of us have never heard of like Keef Hartley and Bert Sommer. Think of me as you would Keef or Bert, a lesser act that may be forgotten by this time next year. The only difference is that I’ll perform using considerably fewer drugs, a complete absence of tie-dye, and hardly any hair on top of my balding head. In any case, I’m incredibly excited and honored to be a part of Bookstock 2025 in Woodstock Vermont on May 16-18!  #bookstock #woodstock
